West Midlands Clinical Excellence study day with Rosemary Varley

Speech Advance were lucky enough to be part of the West Midlands Clinical Excellence Networks (CEN) most recent study day with Rosemary Varley, who is a professor of Acquired Language Disorder at University College London (UCL). Rosemary is so knowledgable. Her previous posts have included work in the NHS and research/ teaching posts at the University of Hong Kong and the University of Sheffield. She has co-authored books and published research in major international journals.
Most of her work is directed at the investigation of post stroke impairments in adults. She is the co-author of the software SWORD, a program that allows people with post-stroke speech disorders to self-manage their therapy. The program and its research were discussed with us all thoroughly on the day.
So much was learnt and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day!...... Now to put all this new found knowledge into practise with our wonderful clients!!!
