PD UK Local Speech Groups

Published 4th February 2016

There are around 365 Parkinson's UK local groups throughout the UK. These are run by volunteers who usually have experience of Parkinson's and are supported by Parkinson's UK staff.

The groups welcome family members and carers, and some involve health or social care professionals. Meetings can be informal - a chance to talk and discuss worries and experiences - or may include a presentation by an invited speaker, such as a healthcare professional or complementary therapist.

Speech Advance will be working with some of the PD UK Local Groups to offer drop-in speech therapy sessions. These groups will offer advise and support and will aim to provide exercises suitable for those with Parkinson's.
