NatalieSpeech Advance is an independent speech and language therapy service run by Natalie Mincher-Lockett BScSLT MA, offering professional consultation, screening assessment, treatment programmes, advice and training for adults and carers, within peoples own homes and/or place of residence.

The service provides speech and language therapy to adults with acquired speech, language and swallowing difficulties, as a result of a wide variety of neurological conditions, for example:

  • Parkinson's (PD)
  • Motor neurones disease (MND)
  • Multiple sclerosis (MS)
  • Huntington's disease (HD)
  • Stroke
  • Traumatic brain/ head injury
  • Brain surgery/tumour
  • Dementia
  • Other degenerative/ neurological disorders

OSCE examinations at Birmingham City University

Today Speech Advance spent the day with lecturers at Birmingham City University (BCU) examining first year students completing their OSCE's (Objective Structured Clinical Examinations).  As always the lecturers and clinical educators were so welcoming and supportive to us visiting clinicans and to the students, which made the day so enjoyable. These examinations must be so nerve wrecking for the students but we're happy to say that all the students did well! So a massive well done to them all!
